We believe that wealth can be used as a tool for transformative change in our families, communities and globally. For this reason, we seek out women who believe the status quo isn’t working and want to contribute to creating a more equitable and sustainable world.

Women With Capital is a fantastic community of women. Barbara has a knack for finding women from diverse backgrounds who have similar questions about investing/wealth management. Her educational program is the perfect blend of creative and analytical, where you dive deep into a breadth of topics but never get bored.

This community helped me become financially savvy not only because of the amazing instructors but mostly from having discussions about money that you can’t have with your friends and family. I highly recommend becoming a part of this group if you want to learn more about your finances or if you want to join a group of badass women.

When I first took over managing my family’s investments, I looked for resources to educate myself. I was apprehensive about taking charge of our money. I couldn’t find anywhere to ask questions without getting a sales pitch. I needed a source of unbiased information I could use to make decisions of my own, based on my family’s specific needs.

I feel strongly that we can and should have both the information and the support to make healthy financial decisions.

I’m excited to share my process of education and empowerment, and provide resources, inspiration and a community of like-minded women to learn with.

To protect members' privacy, we do not print a specific number. Since we explore private investments in depth, members need to be accredited investors (based on assets). Please contact us directly and we are happy to share more information.

  2. The first step in applying is to have a conversation with Barbara to learn about your interests and goals. Our aim is to create a learning community where members share similar interests in exploring wealth, investing and philanthropy of women with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Before the program begins, Barbara will have a conversation with each new member about their interests, learning style and goals. Our aim is to create a learning community where members share similar interests in exploring wealth, investing and philanthropy and include women of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

  3. Since the benefits of being part of a learning community come with consistency, participants are expected to fully participate in the educational sessions in the series.

The Fall 2023 core educational series , along with guest speaker meetings, will be held online. This allows for women to participate from across the country and the world.

When will the series be offered next?

What is the invitation-only speaker series included in the membership?

We have pioneering women in investing share their opinions and advice on topics such as values-aligned investing, the gender investing gap and innovative ways to use your capital for change. Our inaugural speaker was Sallie Krawcheck, CEO of Ellevest and former CEO of leading Wall Street investment firms including Smith Barney, US Trust and Citi Private Bank among others.

For example, we had an illuminating and inspiring discussion with Sonya Dreizler and Rachel Robasciotti about what we can do as women with wealth to support racial justice in this country through our investment choices. Other speakers have included Margo Cook, former co-president of Nuveen Investments, one of the largest asset managers in the world and Jen Risher, author of We Need To Talk: A Memoir About Wealth. We have also heard from leading venture capitalists such as Maria Velissaris, founder of Steelsky Ventures, and Lorine Pendleton of Portfolia’s Rising America Fund.

What makes Women with Capital a pitch-free zone?

Unlike other venues where speakers either pay for the opportunity to reach a desirable audience or expect to get business from the engagement, our speakers do not have the goal of securing your business. The instructors are paid for their time and expertise, which is reflected in our fees.

We maintain strict confidentiality and do not share or sell any data at all--ever.

Is this program designed for any particular age group?

Topics are tailored to the concerns of women who want to build and preserve wealth for themselves and their families while, at the same time, giving thought to the difference they want to make in the world. The program is highly customized and based around a cohort of women with similar concerns and is open to all ages.

Can I share this announcement with other women?

You are welcome to refer people to the program individually or in forums for socially progressive, philanthropic women. In this way, we seek to create a diverse and trusted community. We are looking for a select group of women who meet the participant eligibility and who want to take control of their money and use it to make a difference.
