When I first took over managing my family’s investments I looked for resources to educate myself. I was apprehensive about taking charge of our money. I couldn’t find anywhere to ask questions without getting a sales pitch. I needed a source of unbiased information I could use to make decisions of my own, based on my family’s specific needs.

I feel strongly that we can and should have both the information and the support to make healthy financial decisions.

I’m excited to share my process of education and empowerment, and provide resources, inspiration and a community of like-minded women to learn with.

How To Apply

The inaugural Women with Capital private educational series will convene in the fall of 2019. This private group, limited to no more than six women, will include all of the topics, experts, and materials that will be offered in subsequent programs.

Eligibility

  1. To create a cohort of women with similar concerns, resources and interests, each person should have a minimum of one million dollars in investable assets (excluding primary residences).

  2. Before the program begins, Barbara will hold an in-person or virtual meeting with each prospective participant. The goal is to create a cohesive group that shares similar concerns, as well as addressing individual questions.

  3. Since the benefits of being part of a learning community come with consistency, participants are expected to commit to attending each of the four in-person meetings.

  4. Confidentiality is fundamental to the success of the program. Participants and expert instructors commit to maintaining absolute confidentiality. This trust forms the foundation of our work together.

Women with Capital is a pitch-free zone, which means pitches for any products, projects, or services are prohibited.

Time Commitment

We will meet this fall from 9am to 2 pm in San Francisco on the following dates: October 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd.

Members of this series are invited to participate in quarterly educational conference calls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the meetings located?

Meetings will be held in San Francisco. The exact location will be sent to participants beforehand.

What is the cost?

As part of the initial cohort, participants agree to give verbal and written feedback so we may refine the content. For this reason, the inaugural series will be offered at $5,000 versus the standard price of $7,500.

What if I can’t make these dates? When will the series be offered again?

The series will be offered next in mid-January to mid-February 2020.

What makes Women with Capital a pitch-free zone?

The invited speakers are paid for their time and expertise, which is reflected in our fees. Unlike other venues where speakers either pay for the opportunity to reach a desirable audience or expect to get business from the engagement, our speakers do not have the goal of securing your business. We also require each participant to agree to not pitch their services or their favorite projects or investments to the others.

We maintain strict confidentiality and do not share or sell any data at all--ever.

Is this program designed for any particular age group?

Topics are tailored to the concerns of women who want to build and preserve wealth for themselves and their families as they grow older while, at the same time, giving thought to the difference they want to make in the world.

Since the program is highly customized and based around a cohort of women with similar concerns, we will try to group women in similar life stages.

Can I share this announcement on social media?

We are not advertising the series but are instead sharing it with a network of trusted friends and colleagues who are welcome to refer people to the program individually. In this way, we can better create a trusted community.

Please do share individually with women who meet participant requirements and who want to take control of how their money can make a difference. However, please refrain from posting publicly.

What happens in the quarterly follow-up calls? What do they cost?

The quarterly group conference calls are included in the price--no additional fee-- and will cover a topic of interest for ongoing learning. There will be plenty of time for members to share victories and challenges as well as ask questions of the group.
